The Preschool is open 38 weeks per year, during the school terms. Children eligible for funding can have up to 30 hours of free nursery per week. Please see our funding section for more information.

  • Breakfast Club: 8.00-8.30 – Under 3’s £2.50, Over 3’s £2.30
  • Morning session: 8.30 – 11.30 – Under 3’s £15.00, Over 3’s £13.80
  • Lunch Club: 11.30 – 12.30 – Under 3’s £5.00, Over 3’s £4.60
  • Afternoon session: 12.30 – 3.30  – Under 3’s £15.00, Over 3’s £13.80

Lunch club can be used to extend or join together morning and afternoon sessions.

Funded Nursery Spaces
Nursery education grant for 3 and 4 year olds

The Early Years Education Grant is funding made available by Reading Borough Council to provide your three or four year old child with a free or grant funded part-time educational place in an early years setting. Your child will become eligible to claim the Early Years Education Grant from the start of the term following their third birthday. You are entitled to claim up to 30 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year. The nursery will give you a simple form to complete for the first term you intend to claim the Early Years Education Grant. You will need to fill out the form and return it to us; we will then forward it to the Early Years team at Reading Borough Council.

Nursery education grant for 2 year olds

A limited number of 2 year old children in Reading are eligible to receive a funded early years place. If you are found to be eligible your child could receive up to five sessions at nursery a week for free. To be eligible you must be receiving one or more of the following benefits:

  • Income support
  • Income based job seekers allowance
  • An income related employment and support allowance
  • Support under part VI of the immigration and Asylum act 1999
  • Child Tax Credit; provided you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an income that does not exceed £16,190.
  • The guarantee element of State pension credit

You must also register with your local children’s centre; we can give you a form for this.   Or meet one of the following criteria:

  • Child has a registered disability and receives disability living allowance
  • Child has a Special Educational Needs Statement
  • Child is in the care of the local authority
  • Child is on the protection register
  • Child is leaving care through adoption, special guardianship or residence order

If you believe you may be eligible to receive two year old funding please ask for an application form. Once you have completed this we will send it to Reading Borough Council who will assess your application. Your nursery place will commence once we have received confirmation of your eligibility from Reading Borough Council. You can also check your eligibility online:
